LAST GAME: Clayton Conner’s walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth scored Justin Parker from second base, lifting the Silver Hawks to a 5-4 win in game three of the four game series. Conner, playing in only his second game with South Bend this season, pulled the ball past the shortstop to pin the loss on Jason Roenicke (LP, 1-2). Alfredo Marte had earlier tied the game at 4-4 with a three run homer in the sixth inning, his sixth long ball of the season. Yonata Ortega (ND), Bayron Zepeda (ND) and Justin Mace (WP, 2-2) tossed 2.0 innings of scoreless relief each, after South Bend starter Randy Rodriguez (ND) had allowed four runs over the first four innings.

PLAYOFF CHASE (23 Games Remaining in the Second Half – Top Two of Remaining Teams Qualify):
· Great Lakes leads the playoff chase by 2.5 over Dayton. The Dragons lead the Silver Hawks by 1.0 game for the wild card spot.
· Fort Wayne was the first half champion and West Michigan was the first half wild card in the East.
· Peoria leads the West race, with Clinton leading the wild card chase. Kane County and Cedar Rapids were first half qualifiers.

TEAM NOTES:
· South Bend has played extra inning games in back-to-back days for the first time this season (3-4 overall in extras).
· Yesterday’s win clinched at least a split of the season series with LAN, needing one win in last five games to win season matchup.
· The remaining 23 games will all be against Eastern Division opponents, including four against Lansing (all four at the Cove).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
· Alfredo Marte’s 3 run homer last night gives him a team-best 61 RBIs, and extends hitting streak to a personal best 10 games.
· Reynaldo Navarro went 2-for-5 yesterday and is now hitting .414 against Lansing this season – best on the team.
· Clayton Conner hit a walk-off single last night in just his second game with the Hawks this season.
