LAST GAME (Tuesday): West Michigan raced out to a 9-0 lead on their way to a 9-2 victory over the Silver Hawks on Tuesday night in Michigan. Jordan Lennerton had a two run homer, Brent Wyatt had a two run double, and five other Whitecaps drove in one run to pace the West Michigan rout. Casey Crosby (WP, 10-4) tossed 5.0 scoreless innings for the win. Randy Rodriguez (LP, 4-9) allowed all nine runs over his 3.2 innings on the mound. Reynaldo Navarro had a two run double to score the only two runs for South Bend. Jordan Meaker (ND), Victor Capellan (ND) and Justin Mace (ND) combined for 4.1 scoreless innings of relief.

PLAYOFF CHASE (18 Games Remaining in the Second Half – Top Two of Remaining Teams Qualify):
· Great Lakes leads the playoff chase by 4.5 games. South Bend leads Dayton by 1.0 game for the wild card spot.
· Fort Wayne was the first half champion and West Michigan was the first half wild card in the East.
· Peoria leads the West race, with Clinton leading the wild card chase. Kane County and Cedar Rapids were first half qualifiers.

TEAM NOTES:
· The Silver Hawks allowed five runs in an inning in each of the final three games against the Whitecaps, losing all three.
· The remaining 18 games will all be against other playoff hopefuls (4 vs. GL, 4 vs. DTN, 4 @ GL, 1 vs. LAN, 3 @ DTN, 2 vs. LAN).
· South Bend is 17 games under .500 for the year. The season low is 18 games under .500 (on three different occasions).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
· Clayton Conner had his six game hitting streak snapped Tuesday. He had at least one hit in his first six games with South Bend.
· Reynaldo Navarro has established a new season high with a nine game hitting streak (15 for his last 39).
· Jordan Meaker has thrown 9.2 consecutive scoreless innings, a season high for him.
