LAST GAME: For the third straight game, the Silver Hawks were held to just three hits as they fell to the Great Lakes Loons 4-2 on Sunday afternoon. Anthony Hatch and Jerry Sands each homered for Great Lakes, as the Loons won their fourth in a row. Eric Smith (ND) allowed two runs over 4.1 innings, with Bryan Woodall (LP, 3-5) allowing the final two runs to suffer the defeat. Robert Boothe (WP, 2-3) allowed an unearned run, but still was credited with the win for Great Lakes. Alfredo Marte had two hits to pace the Silver Hawks offensive attack, including picking up his 65th RBI with a single in the fourth.

PLAYOFF CHASE (7 Games Remaining in the Second Half – Top Two of Remaining Teams Qualify):
· South Bend leads Dayton by one game for the wild card spot. Great Lakes has clinched the second half title.
· Fort Wayne was the first half champion and West Michigan was the first half wild card in the East.
· Peoria has clinched a spot in the West, with BUR leading the wild card. Kane County and Cedar Rapids were first half qualifiers.

TEAM NOTES:
· South Bend has just nine hits in the series with Great Lakes, three in each game (losing all three).
· The Silver Hawks have scored just two runs in 27.0 innings against the Loons in this series.
· The remaining 7 games will all be against other playoff hopefuls (1 @ GL, 1 vs. LAN, 3 @ DTN, 2 vs. LAN).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
· Reynaldo Navarro extended his hitting streak to six games with a single in the eighth inning Saturday night. DNP yesterday.
· Alfredo Marte has five of the team’s nine hits in the series with Great Lakes.
· Victor Capellan lowered his ERA to 0.84 with a scoreless inning of relief Thursday night.
