LAST GAME:  The Silver Hawks woke the bats up against a good pitcher Wednesday night, scoring four runs on 13 hits in a 4-1 victory over the Dayton Dragons.  South Bend got to Josh Smith (LP, 2-2) early, pushing three runs across in five innings against the league’s second-ranked ERA and strikeout pitcher.  Yazy Arbelo launched a solo homer for the Silver Hawks – tying for the league lead with seven on the season.  Raywilly Gomez added two RBIs and Raul Navarro had two hits and a RBI to aid in the offensive attack.  Mike Bolsinger (WP, 2-0) pitched 3.0 scoreless innings of relief for the win, with Blake Cooper (SV, 4) recording his fourth straight save.

TEAM NOTES:

·         The Silver Hawks bullpen has allowed just two earned runs in the last 30.1 innings pitched.

·         South Bend turned another double play yesterday, their 26th in 25 games.  The Hawks rank fourth in the league in DP’s turned.

·         Silver Hawks pitchers have issued just 76 walks this season – the fourth fewest in the league.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:

·         Yazy Arbelo ranks T-1st in the MWL with seven home runs this season and 5th with 20 RBIs.

·         Blake Cooper has recorded a save in four straight outings, tossing five consecutive 1-2-3 innings.

·         Brian Budrow has not been scored on in his last 7.2 innings over four outings.

·         Dan Taylor tossed 3.1 perfect innings of relief on Tuesday, lowering his ERA to a team best 0.77 this season.
