LAST GAME: Victor Estevez had three RBIs while Ramon Castillo added two RBI doubles on Wednesday as the South Bend Silver Hawks defeated the Dayton Dragons 7-4 in the series opener. Adam Worthington (WP, 5-5) won for the second start in a row, allowing just two runs over 6.2 innings. David Nick added a solo home run for South Bend and Keon Broxton drove in the other run for the Hawks. Dayton’s Daniel Corcino (LP, 1-1) allowed five runs over 4.2 innings to suffer the loss.

PLAYOFF RACE:
• With 12 games remaining, the Hawks are currently 2.5 games behind West Michigan for the final playoff spot.

TEAM NOTES:
• The Silver Hawks have won 3 of their last 4 series after losing or splitting the previous eight series.
• South Bend has won three straight games for the second time this week (six wins in last seven games overall).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
• Keon Broxton continues to lead all of baseball with 19 triples. He has tied the MWL record for most triples in a season (established in 1954 by John Wyre of the Clinton Pirates).
• Scottie Allen returns from injury tonight to make his first start since going 7.0 scoreless on August 8th vs. Lake County.
