From the Notes - April 14th

Silver Hawks Team Hitting: .287 – 3rd                  
Silver Hawks Team Pitching: 4.20 ERA –9th
Lugnuts Team Hitting: .234 – 11th                                   
Lugnuts Team Pitching: 7.53 ERA – 16th

LAST GAME:  The Silver Hawks jumped out to a 9-0 lead and held on for a 9-5 win over the Lansing Lugnuts on Wednesday evening.  The win marked the team’s first at newly renovated Coveleski Stadium and their second on the year.  Zach Walters, Yazy Arbelo, and Raywilly Gomez each had two RBIs to help the Hawks build the big lead early against Daniel Webb (LP, 0-1).  Jeff Shields (WP, 1-1) started for South Bend and allowed just two unearned runs in 5.0 innings.  Tyler Green (SV, 1) pitched the final four innings for a save.  Keon Broxton, Mike Freeman, and Arbelo each had three hits for South Bend as well.

TEAM NOTES:
·         The Silver Hawks have outscored their opponents 40-34 despite being just 2-5 on the season (19-4 W @ FW on Sunday helped).
·         Team Ranks:  T-1st in triples, 2nd in runs scored, 3rd in batting average amongst 16 team league.
·         The Silver Hawks have turned nine double plays and only hit into three of them in 2011.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
·         Yazy Arbelo and Mike Freeman each had a hit last night and have team-high five game hitting streaks.
·         Keon Broxton is tied for first in the Midwest League with 32 at-bats this season.
·         Zach Walters ranks second with eight runs scored this season; Yazy Arbelo is second with eight RBIs.
