LAST GAME: Tyler Green’s 5.0 innings of one-hit ball were wasted as the South Bend Silver Hawks fell to the Fort Wayne TinCaps 5-1 on Friday night. Green struck out six in his professional debut, but received no decision as the TinCaps rallied for the win. Zach Cates (ND) and Matt Hardy (WP, 1-0) held the Silver Hawks to just one run on three hits. Matt Helm provided the lone South Bend RBI. Jeff Shields (LP, 0-1) took the loss, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits in 3.0 innings. The South Bend defense committed three errors on the night.

TEAM NOTES:

• South Bend has started each of the past five seasons at 0-2 (0-4 in ’07, 0-9 in ’08, 0-3 in ’09, 0-9 in ’10, 0-2 this year).
• The Silver Hawks committed three errors last night after playing mistake free ball on Thursday.
• South Bend has managed just seven hits in the first two games of the season (four on Thursday, three on Friday).
• The Silver Hawks have struck out 25 times in the first two games.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:

• Zach Walters is the only Silver Hawks player with a hit in each of the first two games. He has three on the season.
• Jhoan Pimentel is the only position player yet to see action in a game.
