LAST GAME: A six run inning for the Fort Wayne TinCaps turned a close game into a rout as they defeated the South Bend Silver Hawks 11-5 on Thursday night. Matt Clark had four RBI for the TinCaps, who improve to 9-0 against South Bend this season. Brett Moorhouse (LP, 2-8) continues his struggled by allowing five runs (four earned) in 4.0 innings. Bayron Zepeda and Jordan Meaker allowed three runs each in relief for South Bend. Nelson Gomez and Rossmel Perez each had three hits for the Silver Hawks, with Gomez driving in two and Perez with one RBI. Victor Estevez extended his hitting streak to six games with a two hit performance.

THE PLAYOFF CHASE (Top two teams from each division qualify in each half):
· The Silver Hawks have been eliminated from playoff contention in the first half.
· Fort Wayne leads the East by two games over West Michigan. Both teams have clinched playoff spots.
· Cedar Rapids and Kane County are tied for first in the West. Clinton is one game back with three to play.

TEAM NOTES:
· South Bend has lost seven in a row and 15 of their last 16 to fall a season low 13 games under .500.
· South Bend has lost seven games in a row despite outhitting the opponents in five of the seven games.
· South Bend has a losing record against every Eastern Division team but Lansing (1-6 WM, 1-7 GL, 0-9 FW, 3-5 DTN, 7-3 LAN).
· South Bend had four players (Duffy, Navarro, Cook, Hose) chosen to the All-Star team along with the entire field staff.

· Nelson Gomez had three hits last night, and has hit safely in eight of his last nine games.
· Victor Estevez has a personal high six game hitting streak (10-for-last-22).
