In talking about who might replace Brendan Duffy on the active roster, I mentioned it could be a recent draft pick or someone who has been hanging out in extended spring training.

Bobby Stone had a good extended spring training hitting for .347 4 homers 4 triples and 6 doubles. However he is a corner outfielder or 1B and that doesn't fit because Duffy played center.
ReplyDeleteDuffy also played in left some, with Alberto Diaz playing center. So I think a corner outfielder would be okay for the Silver Hawks if Arizona is content with Diaz playing center field regularly. A faster guy in center would be better, but Diaz (and probably Asencio and Marte for that matter) could handle the position without too much trouble at this level.
ReplyDeleteI keep up with Bobby Stone through his father. He is a great kid and they a they are a great family. I hope he gets a chance to move up at some point. Bobby has always been a hard worker and loves playing the game.
