I'm so hungry I'm about to gnaw my arm off, but before I go to lunch, I will post some baseball-related links for you (because your happiness is more important than my hungry stomach).
-First, I'm not a real big fan of Gene Wojciechowski (mainly b/c I had to refer back to the article page 4 times to spell his name right), nor am I a real big fan of Pete Rose anymore (should be in the Hall based on his playing career, but the guy is a first rate...well, pick whatever word you want to fill in). However, Gene makes an interesting case about Mark McGwire versus Pete Rose. It's worth the read whether you like them both, hate them both, or just like baseball.
-Andre Dawson wanted to go into the Hall of Fame as a Cub. They said "nope, you're an Expo."
-Speaking of the Cubs, they signed former Silver Hawk Chad Tracy to a Minor League deal yesterday.

Hitting The Links
No, I'm not golfing (although I certainly wish I was). Instead, here are a bunch of links to fill your baseball fix for today.
-MLB Trade Rumors has a list of all the 2010 Free Agents. This list is constantly changing and updated, so feel free to bookmark it.
-The Diamondbacks were busy yesterday...buying out Chad Tracy, passing three players through waivers and sending them to AAA, and losing Yusmeiro Petit and Doug Slaten to waiver claims. I have to admit, I'm not sad to see Petit go...I could never get his name right on the air.
-A big ole oops for Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum. He's a great picher, but this isn't smart.
-In a story related to my post yesterday about big markets teams buying up the smaller markets best players, the Marlins have traded Jeremy Hermida to the Red Sox. I'd say the Marlins wanted to trade him to get something for him before losing him to free agency. Peter Gammons has more.
-Finally, the Mets and Braves don't have teams in the Midwest League, but Baseball America has published the top 10 prospects for each team.

Chad Tracy: Finished with Diamondbacks?
Chad Tracy played in just 54 games for the South Bend Silver Hawks in 2001, but they could not have gone any better. He hit .340 with 4 homers and 36 RBIs and was a major reason why the Hawks went to the MWL Finals that season.
He followed it up with averages of well over .300 in his next two seasons at double-A and triple-A, debuting in the majors in 2004. He started out fine, enjoying great success in his first three big league seasons. However, his production has dropped dramatically, he has lost his starting job at first base, and he's in danger of having his Diamondbacks career come to an end.
Over the weekend, Tracy homered on Saturday night, and then started the game Sunday in what many are saying was a grand gesture since it was likely his final home game at Chase Field. He ended up with three hits on Sunday.
I wasn't around when Tracy played in South Bend, but a lot of people have told me they really enjoyed watching him play, so I thought this post would be interesting for the fans that remember him from 2001.
