Doubleheader Scheduled for Tuesday

Monday's scheduled game between the South Bend Silver Hawks and Bowling Green Hot Rods at Coveleski Stadium has been postponed due to rain in the South Bend area. The game has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. The gates will open for Tuesday's game at 11:30 AM Eastern Time.

Both games will be seven innings in length, per Midwest League rules. Starting pitchers for tomorrow's doubleheader are still to be announced.

Pregame show on Sportsjuice.com scheduled to begin at 11:40 AM.

Rained Out Again

Today's doubleheader has been rained out.  We'll try again with a DH tomorrow (Sunday) beginning at 1 PM.  Pregame show will begin at 12:40 PM.

We have another game to make up because of the back-to-back rainouts.  Since West Michigan doesn't come back here in the first half, the other game will be made up at their place in mid-May.  More details to follow on that.

Saturday's game has already been rained out due to heavy rains and wet grounds at Coveleski Stadium.

It will be made up as a doubleheader on Monday beginning at 5 PM.

Saturday: No Game
Sunday: One Game at 2:00 PM
Monday: Two Games at 5:00 PM

Starting pitchers are likely just pushed back a day, but I'll let you know if anything changes in the rotation.

South Bend, IN – The South Bend Silver Hawks have announced that Monday evening’s home game against the Dayton Dragons has been postponed due to rain. Fans can redeem their rain check tickets at any time at the stadium box office.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday evening beginning at 5:00 PM. Gates will open at 4:30 PM at Coveleski Stadium.

Tuesday’s game is a WAOR Twofer Tuesday, with two reserved seat tickets for the price of one (fans must have an online coupon from WAOR.com or Silverhawks.com). Tuesday is also Half-way to Halloween sponsored by WAOR. Fans wearing a Halloween costume will receive a free reserved seat ticket and a chance to compete for free airline tickets courtesy of Allegiant Air.

Starting pitchers for Tuesday’s games have not yet been announced for South Bend. Dayton will send RHP Josh Ravin to the mound in game one, with RHP Curtis Partch in game two. Both games of the doubleheaders will be seven-inning games, per Midwest League rules.

Monday's Game Rained Out

South Bend, IN – The South Bend Silver Hawks have announced that Monday evening’s home opener against the Lansing Lugnuts has been postponed due to rain. Fans can redeem their rain check tickets at any time at the stadium box office.

The scheduled Dyngus Day buffet will still take place in the Upper Deck at Coveleski Stadium from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Tuesday’s game will continue as planned at 6:30 p.m. and serve as the official home opener for the 2009 season.

Monday’s game will be made up Wednesday as part of a doubleheader beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday’s games will each be seven innings. Since Monday’s game was a scheduled “Dollar Monday” event, the South Bend Silver Hawks will make Wednesday’s game a special “Dollar Wednesday” with reserved tickets, hot dogs, and soft drinks for one dollar each.

Today’s scheduled starters will pitch tomorrow. For the Silver Hawks, RHP Ryan Cook will make his season debut. Lansing will counter with RHP Josh Wells in his first appearance of 2009.
