This is up on the Silver Hawks facebook page as well, but the NCAA is implementing a 20-second pitch clock for 2011. In most cases, the umpire will just carry a clock with them, but some conference may elect to put up a visible clock for the pitchers.
I'm curious as to your thoughts on this. I consider myself a baseball purist, but I have mixed feelings on the subject. What do you think?
From "Office Space":
ReplyDeleteMichael Bolton: That's the worst idea I've ever heard in my life, Tom.
Samir: Yes, this is horrible, this idea.
This is worse than Cuba's new extra innings rule:

I don't like it and I have no issue with the length of a game.
ReplyDeleteAccording to what I read, If the batter takes too long you assess a strike to the batter. If the pitcher takes to long you award the batter with a ball. What happens when it becomes a cat and mouse game with the batter getting into the batters box with a second to spare. What then? the pitcher has to rush through his motion?
Or should the pitcher start his wind up weather the batter is ready or not to ensure he gets the pitch off before the clock hits zero?
