LAST GAME: The Silver Hawks exploded for nine runs on 13 hits in their home opener Tuesday night, defeating the Lansing Lugnuts 9-2 at Coveleski Stadium. All nine hitters is the Silver Hawks lineup recorded at least one hit, and each batter either scored or drove in one run or more. Alfredo Marte had his third consecutive multi-hit game, driving in two runs as well. Jake Elmore scored three runs for the Silver Hawks, who won for the first time in 2009. Ryan Cook (WP, 1-0) earned the win, allowing just two runs in 6.0 innings. Josh Wells (LP, 0-1) took the loss for Lansing, getting tagged for six runs on seven hits and five walks in just 1.1 innings.

TEAM NOTES:
· Every starter had at least one hit for South Bend on Tuesday (Duffy, Elmore, Marte, and Navarro had two each)
· The Hawks are winless on the road (0-3) and 1-0 at home so far in 2009
· The Silver Hawks have committed six errors in the first four games, ranking 7th in the league in fielding percentage.
· The Hawks have struck out 47 times in four games (averaging 11.75 K’s per game).
· Silver Hawks pitching have walked just nine batters in four games, striking out 21.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
· Reynaldo Navarro is the only Hawks hitter to have a hit in each of the first four games.
· Alfredo Marte has two hits in each of the last three games.
· Chris Davis is the only position player to have not yet played in 2009.
· Isaias Ascencio recorded the team’s first triple last night; The Silver Hawks have not yet hit a home run.
