- Tip of the cap to West Michigan starter Casey Crosby -- he was simply dominating through 5 innings.
- West Michigan manager Joe DePastino got Crosby out at the right time, he was fading fast, and the Silver Hawks were taking advantage.
- Let's not forget that Trevor Harden pitched a very solid ballgame as well. Eight K's in 5.0 innings is very strong.
- Not a whole lot of offense tonight for the Hawks, but I think that's more of a credit to West Michigan pitching.
- It's one game, don't read too much into it. This team wasn't going to go 140-0, and they won't go 0-140. I'm always amazed at how many people think the world is ending when their team loses on Opening Day. I have news for you: half the teams in the league lose on Opening Day.

ReplyDeletethey had 10 runs before we were out of the 1st inning. I was at the game last night and will be tonight also and I know that the "boys" will try to bring a win tonight.
You're right, Trevor was very solid. Although they connected on a few shots, seems the defense was a little substandard at times. All of this will improve game-by-game I'm sure. Great performance on Trevor's first outing for the Hawks. Keep watching this cat in the future.
