LAST GAME: A see-saw battle Saturday night saw the Silver Hawks blast their first two home runs of the season on their way to a 4-2 victory over the Great Lakes Loons. Alberto Diaz and Jake Elmore each hit home runs for the Silver Hawks, but it was Brendan Duffy’s RBI single in the seventh that broke a 2-2 tie and led to the victory. Duffy raised his average to .407 on the season with another multi-hit performance. Isaias Asencio added an RBI as well to round out the scoring. On the mound, Taylor Sinclair (ND) made a spot start, allowing one run in 3.0 innings. T.J. Hose followed with a run in 2.1 innings, then Bayron Zepeda (WP, 1-0) and Justin Mace (SV, 1) shut out the Loons for the final 3.2 innings.

TEAM NOTES:
· The Silver Hawks picked up their first road win of the season last night (1-5 on road, 2-1 at home).
· The Silver Hawks were the last Midwest League team to hit a home run, hitting two in Saturday’s game at Great Lakes.
· The Hawks have struck out 85 times this season, 3rd most in the Midwest League, but a season low 4 K’s on Saturday.
· Silver Hawks pitchers have walked 22 batters in nine games, fourth fewest in the league.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
· Brendan Duffy had two more hits yesterday, to extend his hitting streak to a season-best five games.
· Duffy’s .407 average ranks 5th in the Midwest League.
· Wade Miley is the only pitcher in the rotation to have not earned a decision yet.
· Alberto Diaz’s current six game hitting streak is the best on the team so far in 2009. Diaz homered Saturday in the first.
