More Minor League Transactions

From the Diamondbacks:

Placed on the Voluntarily Retired List: Mike Mee ('08 Silver Hawk)

Released: Bill Musselman ('o8 Silver Hawk)
Eddie Romero ('07 Silver Hawk)

Same old story for most of these guys, age versus level, combined with past history. I guess Mike Mee retiring is a surprise, but you never know the motives behind it. Some guys have families, some might have other plans, some have injuries, and some guys just realize that the odds of them making it to the majors aren't very good, and it's better to get on with the rest of your life. Not knowing Mike, I would have no idea his reasons behind retiring. Even still, as with all these guys, we wish them the best.

  1. Just in case your fan's did not hear, Matt Oxendine and Dan Fournier "retired" as well.

Mike Mee is a huge surprise. He had an awesome start to the 2008 season and was moved up to Visalia. I know these guys retire but it's surprising all the same!

Bill Musselman did not get much time behind the plate with the Silver Hawks last year and Eddie was with us in 2007. EDDIE!! I got the chance to chat with him during a game in Fort Wayne, Eddie was a great guy. BULLDOG!!

Can we get some good news Owen? How about a 2009 Roster? :-)

  2. Yeh we want to know who is coming this year :-). I know of Rey Navarro(sp?). He is on my facebook and confirmed yesterday that he is coming to SB.

We are anxious for the players to get here and the season to start.

Thanks for the updates Owen. We will have to meet some time once the season starts.
