LAST GAME:  The Silver Hawks received a strong pitching performance from Patrick Schuster (WP, 1-2) in knocking off the Fort Wayne TinCaps on Mother’s Day at the Cove.  Schuster allowed just two runs over 7.0 innings, while tying a career high with seven strikeouts on the afternoon.  Chris Odegaard (ND) followed with two perfect innings of relief work.  Matt Helm and Raywilly Gomez each had two hits for South Bend, while Ender Inciarte scored three runs from the leadoff spot in the lineup.  Gomez joined Yazy Arbelo and Bobby Stone with RBIs in the game.

TEAM NOTES:

·         Roster Move:  RHP Brian Budrow promoted to high-A Visalia.  RHP Keith Cantwell joins club from extended spring training.

·         The Silver Hawks bullpen has allowed just five earned runs in the last 42.2 innings pitched (1.06 ERA since April 28th).

·         The defense has turned 31 double plays in 29 games this season – ranking third in the league.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:

·         Yazy Arbelo ranks T-1st in the MWL with eight home runs this season and fourth with 22 RBIs.

·         Chris Jarrett leads the league with three intentional walks this season.

·         Blake Cooper has recorded a save in five straight outings, tossing five consecutive 1-2-3 innings, and retiring 19 in a row.

·         Dan Taylor has retired the last 19 batters he has faced in a row, dating back to April 29th at Lake County.
