LAST GAME: A great pitcher’s duel between Burlington’s Mike Montgomery (ND) and South Bend’s Taylor Sinclair (ND) resulted in both pitchers receiving no decision on Monday, as the Bees plated a run in the top of the ninth on the way to a 2-1 victory. Nick Francis singled to start the rally against Silver Hawks reliever Victor Capellan (LP, 0-1), and Jose Bonilla brought him home with a single to left field to break a 1-1 tie. Montgomery threw 6.0 innings of one run ball, while Sinclair had 6.1 innings, allowing just one run also. David Wood had a RBI single for Burlington for their first run, with Alfredo Marte driving home Jake Elmore as the Silver Hawks lone run. Eric Basurto (WP, 1-1) pitched two scoreless relief innings for his first win, with Barry Bowden (SV, 7) stranding the tying run at second in the bottom of the ninth for a save. Burlington took two out of three games in the series from the Silver Hawks.
