LAST GAME: A night after playing perhaps their best game of the season, the Silver Hawks certainly played their worst in losing 11-4 to West Michigan on Wednesday night. South Bend was held to five hits, allowed 11 runs on 21 hits, and committed six errors in losing to the Whitecaps. Billy Nowlin and Bryan Pounds each had four hits for West Michigan, with Nowlin driving in three. Randy Rodriguez (LP, 1-6) allowed six runs in 2.0 innings, with Daniel Vasquez (ND) allowing three in 4.0 innings. Jordan Meaker (ND) also allowed a pair of runs in his 2.0 innings on the mound. A.J. Pollock had his first professional hit and RBI as a bright spot for the Silver Hawks offensively. Brayan Villarreal (WP, 2-0) earned the win, as he defeated South Bend for the second time this season.

TEAM NOTES:
· The 21 hits allowed and six errors committed Wednesday night both represent new season highs for the Silver Hawks.
· South Bend ranks 11th in the MWL in fielding percentage; West Michigan ranks first.
· South Bend is one of four Eastern teams fighting for a second half playoff spot (with Dayton, Great Lakes, and Lansing).
· The Silver Hawks went 4-21 in the month of June, after going 16-12 in May.
· South Bend has a losing record against every Eastern Division team but Lansing (2-7 WM, 1-7 GL, 1-15 FW, 3-5 DTN, 7-3 LAN).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
· A.J. Pollock had two hits and a RBI last night, representing his first professional hit and RBI.
· RHP Bryan Woodall has lowered his ERA from 7.08 to 4.91 since June 5th.
· Ryan Cook has lost six straight starts, including four against the TinCaps, while Randy Rodriguez has lost five in a row.
· Alfredo Marte drove in his team-leading 38th RBI in last night’s loss to West Michigan.
