LAST GAME: South Bend celebrated the fourth of July with some fireworks of their own, banging out 17 hits on the way to a 7-3 victory over the Lansing Lugnuts. Reynaldo Navarro led the hit attack with four, including a triple, three singles, and two runs scored. A.J. Pollock added three hits, with Marc Krauss driving in a personal best three RBIs. Alfredo Marte added two more RBIs to his team leading total, giving him 41 on the season. Taylor Sinclair (ND) started but left after 1.2 innings with an injury. Jordan Meaker (ND) was excellent in long relief, tossing 4.0 innings of two run ball. Bryan Woodall (WP, 2-3) followed with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief, with T.J. Hose (ND) recording the final three outs for the Silver Hawks. The loss was pinned on Ryan Koch (LP, 2-6), who allowed two runs in 2.1 innings.

TEAM NOTES:
· The Silver Hawks established a new season high with 17 hits in last night’s game (1 triple, 16 singles).
· Alfredo Marte’s homer in the ninth Thursday was the team’s first since June 9th and only the 21st of the season (last in MWL).
· South Bend is one of four Eastern teams fighting for a second half playoff spot (with Dayton, Great Lakes, and Lansing).
· South Bend has a losing record against every Eastern Division team but Lansing (3-8 WM, 1-7 GL, 1-15 FW, 3-5 DTN, 8-3 LAN).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES:
· Victor Estevez had another hit last night, raising his average to .243. His average was at .179 on June 9th.
· RHP Bryan Woodall has lowered his ERA from 7.08 to 4.15 since June 5th.
· Ryan Cook has lost seven straight starts, while Randy Rodriguez has lost five in a row.
· Alfredo Marte drove in two runs last night, giving him a team-leading 41 this season.
· Reynaldo Navarro had his first four-hit game last night while A.J. Pollock had his first three-hit game.
